Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications for NEET-UG 2022, MBBS, and BDS Course
Educational qualifications and Age Limits for ‘NEET-UG 2022 Registration’ are below
Educational Qualifications
- Appearing/Passed a 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board.
Eligibility Criteria for admission to BAMS/BSMS/ BUMS /BHMS Courses
The candidate must have passed intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent examination recognized by the concerned State Government and Education Board with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the aforesaid qualifying examination in the case of general category and 40% Marks in the case of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.
In order to be eligible for admission to undergraduate BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS Courses, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain a minimum of marks at the 50th percentile in the ‘National Eligibility Entrance Test for undergraduate courses’ held for the said academic year: 2022-23
The criteria for minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for admission to MBBS courses
shall also be applicable to concerned INIs like AIIMS and JIPMER.
The candidates who have studied from the Foreign/International Board should ensure that the qualifying examinations passed by them are, in scope and standard.
The counseling for admission to the seats under the control of State Governments/ UT Administrations / State Universities/ Institutions shall be conducted by the designated authorities of the State Governments as per the notifications issued separately by the authorities concerned.
Age Limit (As of 1st January 2022)
He/she has completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course.
The upper age limit for NEET (UG) is 25 years as of the date of examination with a relaxation of 5 years for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC-NCL category and PwBD Candidates.

Result NEET (UG) – 2022
NEET (UG) 2022 Results would be released by NTA in the month of August. Before the result is declared, NTA would be releasing NEET Answer Key on @neet.nta.nic.in. NTA would also allow candidates to raise objections and release the response sheets online.
Counseling Provisions for admission to BAMS, BSMS, and BUMS Courses
An All India Merit List of the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of All India Rank in the Merit List of the NEET (UG) – 2022 and candidates shall be admitted to Undergraduate ASU & H Courses from the said list only, with existing reservation policy.
The details filled in by the candidate like candidate category, phone number, email, etc. in the NEET-2022 Online Application will be used for the purpose of all India quota seat NEET counseling.
The Pattern of the NEET (UG) – 2022
The Test pattern of NEET (UG) – 2022 comprises four Subjects. Each subject will consist of two sections. Section A will consist of 35 Questions and Section B will have 15 Questions, out of these 15 Questions, candidates can choose to attempt any 10 Questions. So, the total number of questions and utilization of time will remain the same.
Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Four marks (+4) and Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
NEET (UG) – 2022 is a Pen & Paper-based Test, to be answered on the specially designed machine gradable OMR sheet using Ball Point Pen provided at the Centre. Moreover tampering with the OMR at any stage will lead to debarring of the candidature for 3 years.
The duration of the test would be three (03) hours and 20 minutes.
