The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) has been established as a benchmark for undergraduate-level science education in the country for the last two decades. The objective of JAM is to provide admissions to Postgraduate Degree Programs and to consolidate Science as a career option for students across the country. Candidates can apply for JAM 2024 through @jam.iitm.ac.in from September 5, 2023
to October 13, 2023.

What is JAM

JAM Score is used for admission to various postgraduate programs such as

1. (i) M.Sc.,
2. (ii) M.Sc. (Tech.),
3. (iii) MS (Research),
4. (iv) M.Sc. – M.Tech. Dual Degree,
5. (v) Joint M.Sc. – Ph.D.
6. (vi) M.Sc. – Ph.D. Dual Degree, across multiple disciplines by premier institutes across the
   country.

Important Point – JAM Notification 2024

• IIT Madras is the Organizing Institute for JAM 2024.
• JAM 2024 is open to all nationals (Indian/Foreign) and there is no age restriction.
• IIT JAM is a Computer Based Test (CBT) to be conducted in SEVEN Test Papers at the undergraduate level.
• Test Papers will have three objective types of questions:
  (i) Multiple-choice Questions (MCQ),
  (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and
  (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions.
• Candidates may appear in ONE or TWO Test Paper(s).
• Candidates qualifying in JAM are eligible to apply for admission to around 3000 seats in IITs for the academic year 2024-25.
• No additional evaluation process, such as suitability test or interview is required for admission to the programmes in Admitting Institutes under JAM 2024.
• JAM Scores are used for admission to programs such as M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech), M.S Research, M.Sc.-M.Tech. Dual Degree, Joint M.Sc. – Ph.D., M.Sc. – Ph.D. Dual Degree in various institutes.
• JAM 2024 Scores will be used for admission to over 2000 seats for IISc and counseling through CCMN.
• The JAM 2024 Examination will be conducted in around 100 Cities in India.

JAM seat Details 2023

JAM scores will be used for admission to over 2000 seats for postgraduate programs such as M.Sc. and M.A. at IISc and various NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, DIAT through Centralized Counselling for M.Sc / M.Sc. (Tech.) Admission (CCMN).

• A candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree.

IIT JAM Scorecard and Merit Lists:

The results will be declared on March 22, 2024, on the JAM 2024 website. For each Test
Paper, an All India Rank (AIR) will be assigned to all candidates based on their performance.
